This is a comprehensive panel that includes the basic Cholesterol Panel (above) plus 4 additional tests that provide critical information if your are at increased risk or have a complicated history of cardiovascular disease. If any of these additional risk factors are elevated, you may want to repeat this panel after 1 year to evaluate the effectiveness of your therapeutic lifestyle change program or to help in the further diagnosis, treatment, and management of heart disease.
Fasting is required for 12 hours prior to your blood draw at a local CLIA-approved site. Instructions and a list of locations near you will be provided. You'll have direct online access to your results usually within 3-5 business days. Storage of and access to your results are HIPAA compliant.
Tests include:
Cholesterol Panel: This is the basic panel (above) that reveals important information about the types, amount, and distribution of various types of lipids (fats) in your bloodstream, which can affect your risks for cardiovascular diseases. Tests include: Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol (good), LDL Cholesterol (bad), Risk Ratio (Total:HDL), and Triglycerides.
C-Reactive Protein, hs (high sensitivity) is a marker for inflammation of the blood vessels and a strong predictor of risk for cardiovascular disease, including myocardial infarctions (heart attacks).
Fibrinogen is a protein in your blood that helps blood clot. Too much fibrinogen can cause a clot to form in a vein or artery, which can lead to a heart attack, stroke, or deep venous thrombosis (DVT).
Homocysteine is a substance your body uses to make protein and to build and maintain tissue.Too much homocysteine may increase your risk of stroke, heart disease, and disease peripheral vascular disease (diseases of the blood vessels in the arms, legs, and feet).
Lipoprotein (a) is a specific type of LDL (bad) Cholesterol. Your blood levels of Lipoprotein (a), or Lp(a) is mainly determined by your genes and may not be as easily influenced by your lifestyle as the other risk factors listed above. High levels of Lp(a) may be a sign of increased risk of heart disease. It is often tested if you have a family history of early-onset heart disease or sudden death, or if you have atherosclerosis or heart disease, but have otherwise normal cholesterol levels or the absence of other risk factors (smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.).
You save $287 off typical laboratory charges! Our greatly discounted price includes taxes, shipping & handling, plus a follow-up consultation with your WellMax Coach after your results have been interpreted and reported by a Board-certified physician. You are always free to share your test results with your doctor.
