This fifth week continues with the previous weeks' Elements and begins to establish the Temperance Component. Over the following several weeks, you will come to better understand:
- The devastating impact unhealthy habits can have not only on your health, but also on your life and character.
- The degree to which your unhealthy habit controls your choices and negatively impacts your life.
- The sinfulness of sin, (the power of our fallen nature), and how you can be free (by partaking of Christ's divine nature).
James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Temperance Component
The Temperance Component works a little differently than the other Components of your TLC Program:
- First, you will need to identify the "unhealthy habit" that you want to "avoid."
- Then describe what "Total Avoidance" means. What is your Goal?
- Start by researching your unhealthy habit. Watch some credible videos and read some credible articles about it.
- Then identify the tempting situations (triggers) that cause you to falter.
- Make an effort to avoid tempting situations and circumstances.
- When tempted, make an effort to resist the temptation and later assess its effectiveness.
- Learn by "Trial & Error" what works best for you in different situations.
- Track your efforts and your progress by scoring points (which may exceed 10).
- Continue tracking your daily efforts after achieving your goal until your new lifestyle becomes natural.
- Then identify another unhealthy habit that you want to gain control over.
- Use your new skills to experience success more quickly and more easily.
2 Peter 1:2-4 - 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Scoring: During the day (columns):

- Add your Daily Sores for each Element and divide the Row Total by 7 to get the average Weekly Score for each Element.
- Add your Total Daily Scores and divide by 7 to get your Temperance Component Score for the week.
