Even though we are nourished by food to stay alive, there is more to life than physical health...
Matthew 4:4
“But he (Jesus) answered (Satan) and said,
"It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
What did God say as to how we should truly live, if not by bread alone?
Mark 12:28-32
Which is the first (most important) commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel (all believers); The Lord our God is one Lord: and Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first (most important) commandment. And the second (next most important) is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour (everyone with whom you come into contact) as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but He:
God commands that we love Him and others. This is because His purpose for our lives is to love and be loved -- our health and happiness depend on it. If we want to be loved and respected by others, we ought to love and respect them. Since God loved us when we were still sinners (His enemies), we are to love others, as well -- our family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and even our enemies.
Luke 6:31,35
As ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise... love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again (in return); and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for He (God) is kind (merciful) [even] unto the unthankful and to the evil. (see Luke 6:20-38)
So, the question is:
Do you love God with all your heart?
Do you love others (friends and foes) as yourself?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity ("agape" = self-sacrificing love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity (love), I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (love), it profiteth me nothing... And now abideth faith, hope, charity (love), these three; but the greatest of these is charity (love). (1 Corinthians 13:1-13)
